About Rajasthan CET (Senior Secondary Level)

The Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) is held by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board under the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services (Common Eligibility Test) Rules, 2022. Advertisement No. 08/2026, dated 23 June 2026, lists the services whose posts it opens: Forester (Vanpal), Hostel Superintendent (Minority Affairs), Jamadar Grade II (Excise, preventive branch), Constable (Police), Clerk Grade II (RPSC office, Secretariat and Board of Secondary Education) and Junior Assistant in subordinate offices, the RSSB, Panchayati Raj, the State Agricultural Marketing Board, Krishi Upaj Mandis, the State Pollution Control Board and the Jaipur Development Authority. The CET is only an eligibility test: recruitment to each post is by a separate examination held later under that service's rules, and a CET score is not a promise of a job.

Candidates need to have passed Senior Secondary (Class 12) or its equivalent; those in or appearing for the final year may apply but must hold the qualification as the service rules require. The age limit is 18 to 40 years on 1 January 2027, with the relaxations in the advertisement. Online applications ran from 24 June to 23 July 2026 through the SSO portal. The advertisement first fixed the test for 23 to 25 October 2026; the board's press notes of 28 September and 14 October 2026 moved it to 1 to 3 December 2026, in two shifts a day, offline (OMR) at centres in 38 districts. Where it is held in more than one shift, marks are normalised.

The scheme in para 17 of the advertisement is one paper of 120 questions and 240 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, covering the history, art and culture of Rajasthan, the geography of India and Rajasthan, the Indian political system with special reference to Rajasthan, the economy of Rajasthan, everyday science, logical reasoning and mathematics, current affairs, public health, computer knowledge, General Hindi and General English. All questions are multiple choice and carry equal marks, and one-third of a question's marks is deducted for a wrong answer.

The OMR sheet has five bubbles for each question: A to D for the answer and E for 'not attempted'. A question with no bubble darkened loses one-third of its marks, up to 10% of the questions, and a candidate who leaves more than 10% of the questions with no bubble at all is disqualified; 10 minutes beyond the scheduled time are given for this. A candidate who scores less than 40% in the CET (SC and ST candidates get a relaxation of up to 5%) cannot sit the recruitment examinations that use it. The score is valid for three years from the result, under the Personnel Department notification of 16 January 2025, and there is no limit on attempts; the best valid score counts. Scores of the 2024 CET (Senior Secondary) lapsed on 16 February 2026, so its candidates had to apply again.
